A Story About Procrastination, Perfectionism and the Do It Now Principle

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

This is a story about Procrastination, Perfectionism and the Do It Now Principle. This is a very TRUE STORY!

My brother’s blender wore out. He called to ask if he could use mine. He needed it to puree tomatoes.  I said sure.

I was eating dinner and thought when I am done, I will get it out then. After all, I know where it is and just a matter of getting it when he stops by.

Fast forward. He is here. I am still eating but no problem. I stop eating and go to the cabinet to get it. I am having a hard time finding it in the deep cabinet that it is stored so I get my flashlight. Here it is.

I pull out the base and then the carafe. Next I go for the lid.  It is no where to be found! I looked in other cabinets and drawers. Nothing came up. Now I am starting to sweat.

Now What?

Here I am, a blogger and owner of a Facebook Group and a Facebook Page that helps others with Clutter and CHAOS. I have always prided myself not to just shove things where they will fit.

In this case, apparently that is just what happened. Now what?

Always A Way!

I had an option. It is called owning a food processor. Will all of that be together? I go to get it, check it over and yes it is all there! The cherry on top was the fact the instructional booklet was there as well!

Did I Learn Anything?

Yes! I learned to give myself some slack.  Today there is no grade to pursue, no contest, no nothing.  Procrastination, Perfectionism and the Do It Now Principle is simply going to have to loosen up as well! Sometimes things go smoothly and sometimes it is what it is.
