This being my 6th gardening season, I have learned some tricks along the way. The following tip is one I use over and over.
The Four O’Clock Seed
Have you ever seen the seeds of a four o’clock? They look like a micro tiny shape of a dried lemon. Only it is a brown black. They are as hard as any nut that would take a tool to crack them.
Past gardening seasons I would simply follow the directions on the packet of seeds. I would wait and wait for them to come up. (The packet says 7-10 days)
The Trick
I read somewhere on the internet using a fingernail clipper to clip off the top of the seed and soak them overnight. It couldn’t hurt. Worth a try.

Getting An Early Start!
This year I am planning to plant my four o’clocks around one of my clothes line poles where my clematis is located. It is full sun and that is what four o’clocks love!
