The only thing that went wrong this morning before Direct TV showed up to do an upgrade is I wore my watch while taking a shower! Luckily it is waterproof!
I am so happy I have gotten to the place where I can say my home is company ready and I am not having to constantly be apologizing for the mess OR staying up all night the day before to get my home in shape.
I bet you are wondering how I do it. Over three years ago it wasn’t the case. Dishes would be piled up and laundry backed up. Lots of unopened mail stacked up. So what is different?
I tried various systems on the internet that said you could get rid of clutter and have a clean house in X amount of days. I would get started and none of them would work because it would be something different to do each day for 31 days. By day 8 or 9 I would quit.
The closest I got into a system was Flylady. She has a wealth of information. Many have been successful with it.
Do I decide to throw in the towel? No. I was still sick and tired of living among clutter and always having dirty dishes in the sink and smelly laundry in the wash.
I set out to find a way to have the basics done each day every day. This is where Marilyn’s Way Dance Till You FLY! was born. I read about the power of three. It states the most a person can remember similtaneously is 3 things. Our days are already broken into 3 routines. They are Morning, Afternoon and Before Bedtime. Easy enough to remember.
What if there were 3 habits for each routine that one practices each day every day that involve yourself, your family and your home? Is this possible? The answer is yes!
What if you began to practice a total of 9 habits each day as stated above and it allows you to gain free time? Is that possible? The answer is yes again!
Martin Luther King Jr has a quote “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” So many times we as humans think we have to see the whole staircase before we can move forward.
My next question is this. Is there any particular subject you can say you know everything there is to know about it? If you are honest, you will say no. Why? Because as a human race we are constantly evolving. It is one of our strong desires.
Along with the 9 habits there are weekly habits for specific days to focus on. I give you the habits, you decide the days!
Lastly, we focus on our homes one zone at a time each week. There are a total of 5 zones. This is where we declutter first and detail clean second.
In a nutshell there are 3 routines each day and 3 parts of the system with a built in 3 day/3 load limit that I will cover in the future. Don’t worry. It isn’t complicated. It is just something I built into the system that gives one breathing room.

My goal is to give you just a little information that will stay with you verses the other. Therefore you don’t have to see the entire staircase in order to take the first step. The closest you will get is by establishing daily habits that take care of yourself, your family and your home.
