Gardening Season Where Art Thou?

I don’t know about you, but I have had just about enough of this silliness when it comes to the weather.  The sad part is that it looks like I am going to have to wait a little longer.  I checked out the Farmers Almanac for north central United States forecasting unsettling weather.

This means May is having a very slow start at May flowers in South Dakota.  It seems as though we can’t get enough heat consistently each day for anything to grow, except for the weeds.  They are making their way in my garden beds.  Oh yes, the grass has grown since our last stretch of rain.

It doesn’t look like I will get to enjoy my tulips this year either.  Something decided to snack on them instead.  In fact some type of activity has been happening in my garden that surrounds the propane tank.  A couple of my lights have been knocked over.  I wonder if it is the deer I stared down a couple of weeks ago that walked through my yard.

I thought I was being smart as well by delaying starting seeds indoors  All my cute Cosmos that popped up and then I transplanted into small pots dampened off from lack of light even with the grow light on.  The sunflowers are also getting are looking like a snake as they search for light.

I am trying really hard not to be a downer in all this.  I am just a girl that wants to get her hands dirty and play in the dirt.  This kind of  activity out in the yard is what I’m craving more than chocolate and if you know my love of chocolate, you will know I am saying lots!
