How A Rainbow Is Made

Posted on Posted in Family, Gardening, Home, spring

Last night the wind came up suddenly.  I happened to be in a protected area.  I knew it was strong because I watched the blooms of a crab apple tree fly off.

Next came the rain and it was just that.  Sometimes when wind is that strong and the temperature drops hail can form.  Thankfully it just rained.

It was a fast passing cloud that went by.  How do I know? Well I looked out of the east window of my living room and there was a beautiful rainbow peaking out from the edge of the trees.

Naturally I had to go outside to see if I could see the end of the rainbow.  Not only that, I was able to see the entire arch!  I can’t even remember the last time I saw a rainbow as beautiful as this one.  I took photos to share with you all.  To be honest, this rainbow was more beautiful than the photos I took.  That said I still wanted to show them to you.  I hope it makes your day a bit more pleasant.

The church is to the east side of my house.

The old Blacksmith building is to the south of my house.

The sun was the very reason for this beautiful rainbow after the rain.

The Opera House on the south side. I kept walking back to see how much of the rainbow I could see.

As I walked back, I could see how vibrant the rainbow was.

Between Prairie Lodge and the Fire Hall is the other side of the rainbow.

What experiences have you had with rainbows?  When was the time you were able to enjoy one?  I would love to know!

    1. Thank you Mae! I learned from my mom the basics and now do it my way because no one way is always the right way. There are many ways to garden. Thanks for commenting.

  1. Hi Marilyn,
Absolutely beautiful pictures. I love rainbow pictures. I have quite a few of them in my scrapbooking collection. It’s been a while since I’ve seen one but now that SW Florida is going into our rainy season, I should be able to start taking pictures to share.

    Have a great day. Monna
