If You Can’t, At Least You Should Do…

Face it whether one is dealing with a chronic illness like fibromyalgia or are pregnant or a case of the flu, there are going to be days when getting all nine habits of Dance Till You FLY! mw System (c) 2014 are not possible.

Dance Till You FLY! mw System (c) 2014 is based on grouping tasks of threes.  Studies show the average amount of things one can remember at a time hover around the 3 or 4 memory slot mark of our ‘working memory.’  The ‘working memory’ refers to our temporary storage of information that we can pay attention to and manipulate.  Associating three items at a time makes it even easier to remember.  This is based on the ‘Balance Theory’ by Dr. Fritz Heider. There is plenty of research out there backing this theory.

I understand that the common person wouldn’t know this.  When one has fibromyalgia and is also ADD (attention deficit disorder) like myself, I have had to find a way to as one could say, ‘get it.’  Dealing with pain and distraction together spells disaster.  When I set out to take the the flylady March monthly habit challenge in 2011 I was sick and tired of being sick and tired and in the midst of all this an unkept home.  I have been determined since that day forward to find a simple way to take care of my home having these disabilities.  Later, I am finding it applies to other situations as well like what I mentioned in the first sentence of this post.

My goal was if I couldn’t do everything that Flylady asks of us, what three things should I do to keep in the game so to say?  I tried different things in the past three years and what I found to be true is that I must:

                                          Get Dressed To Shoes
                                  Make Dinner
                                  Shine My Sink

Getting dressed to shoes makes you feel better about yourself, making dinner nourishes our body, and shining my sink makes me feel accomplished.

Take out 3 spoons from your kitchen drawer and polish them up.  These spoons represent focusing on the 3 habits of nine habits each day every day that is a part of ‘Dance Till You FLY! mw System (c) 2014. Try this for 3 days and then evaluate how you feel.  I am hoping you will feel the same way as I did.  To show up for my day, I must get dressed to shoes, make dinner, and shine my sink even if I don’t want to.  It is the medicine I need to take to feel better about myself and others around me.

Tip:  Always start with a sink full of hot soapy water when you make dinner so you can clean as you go.
