It Was The Day After Christmas And Clutter Throughout The House

It was the day after Christmas and all through the house was clutter.  Clutter here.  Clutter there.  Clutter everywhere.  How can this be?  For I have been practicing my nine habits each day every day.  Still it seemed as though clutter was everywhere.

Not to despair this Foster sister had a plan.  It would be a timer and songs of declutter one zone at a time.  She thought, “I will do the ’25 Scoop’ and ‘Cha’ ‘Cha’ ‘Cha’ it away!  I will do it by zone you just wait and see!”  But first I must have a trash bag to throw away, a box to give away and a basket to put away.  Let’s see, she would need a feather duster, wrag and a broom and a dust pan.

Setting her timer for ‘Just 15 Minutes’ she thought, “How far will I get?  Surely this must be at least 30 – 45 minute job.  After all, look at the clutter that was spread across this zone!

She started by picking up the trash with the bag starting at the doorway and working her way clockwise around the room.  Next she would scan the room for anything to give away.  Yes she did in the cabinet where she stored her sewing machine.  She took the box and planted it on the floor by the cabinet scanning top to bottom and left to right.  She found 9 items that could be taken to town so out went the things to her vehicle for that is where she would be going the next day.

Next was doing the ‘Cha’ of putting away.  First went the sewing machine back in the cabinet and the accessories like thread and needles that went back in their box to be stored in this cabinet along with the sewing machine.  There stood the ironing board, the iron and towel that was needed to press these Christmas presents that were cowboy vests for her great nephews and a great niece.  First was the iron, unplugged and the cord wrapped in place.  She knew she couldn’t take the iron, towel and ironing board at once but she could put the towel back on the way to the iron’s home.  She didn’t mind as she was dancing the clutter away, she danced back to put to collapse the ironing board and take it back to its home.

Something was missing and the thought came to mind.  It was ‘Detail Cleaning’ that must follow next.  She would start at the top and work her way clockwise again.  There were table and chairs and a hutch to be dusted.  Still there was more.  It is wiping the table off and wipe down the outlets as she circled the room.  Here is the cabinet that needed to be wiped down.  It was simple because she had done this just a few weeks ago.

The rug needed to be shook outside for there surely was dirt and dust in the rug.  So she did the job and then lay it aside for the last to be done was sweeping the floor.  With her tools handy she swept the floor.  The bathroom was off the dining room so why not sweep that floor.  It seemed that the timer had not yet gone off.  She just swept the bathroom floor and that would be it.  As she finished up the timer went off.  To think in ‘Just 15 Minutes’ she had taken a cluttered up room, put her system Dance Till You FLY! mw to work and turned it back into a clutter free room she stood back, looked and was pleased!  There were other zones that needed ‘The Scoop’ and to ‘Cha’ ‘Cha’ ‘Cha’ away but first it was time to have a quick break to drink some water and admire the room she had just finished because that was where she would get her energy to go to the next zone.
The End.
