Out With The Old And In With The New

Out with the Old
“Clutter”
Most of us are focused on “Out With The Clutter.”  We know we have too much stuff.  Most of it was not dealt with when something new came in.  So that’s the problem!  Why didn’t I see this???  Now we have to work extra hard to get that clutter out of our homes.

In with the New
“Space!”
Why do we all seem so uncomfortable with space?  Not all of us are but the ones with clutter issues I bet also have a problem with open space.

I know I am one of them.  I had my Foster Fort built so high and thick it could keep anything out!  I never realized this was what I was doing.  This meant keeping people out too.  It hasn’t been until the last couple years I have enjoyed anyone coming into my home.

For me, in with the new is going to mean “Space.”  I am enjoying open spaces on the counters and oh my, what about the corners of a room?  Now that is new for me!  I love that there is open space and not clutter.

This is the week of transformation.  I hope you join me with learning how to get rid of clutter and keep clutter out of your home as we head into 2014.  You see 2014 is uncluttered space to me and I am going to be very selective and treat this like prime real estate.  This includes my home and my relationships.  Somehow, they seem to go together and I hope to uncover reasons to this in 2014.

  1. I love this idea! I've recently discovered more space in my home after some decluttering, and have enjoyed the feeling of freedom it has given me! So I, too, will be aiming to do a lot more decluttering in 2013, though perhaps not of relationships: more of paring down commitments so that I can have the space to do the things I enjoy as I enter my retirement years . I do hope you will be keeping us posted on your blog.
Happy new year to you, and thank you for your inspiration.
