Planting My Birthday Shrub

Would you believe I am beginning to feel like I have caught up with the gardening?  It has been a busy season with creating a couple new flower gardens.  I am now at the point where I just have to keep things weeded, watered and fertilized while everything grows.

My mom wanted to give me my birthday present early.  I thought, why not?  She had spotted a shrub that looked interesting and would work in my back garden.

Logandigginghole I removed the ‘Rose Of Sharon to be planted elsewhere and Logan began to dig the hole for the new shrub named ‘Mountain Fire Pieris’.

LoganandmarilynplantYes he got it the right size and now to take the shrub out of its container and into the ground.

I would like to thank Logan Foster my great nephew who is 5 years old for helping.  We went to church in the morning and the park after.  We had just enough time to plant the shrub before my niece Kari Foster came to pick up Logan and go to the lake.  It was a fun day!

Has anyone planted this shrub?  I would love to know.  Thank you.

  1. Nice! I love all the pictures. I haven’t planted that but we don’t have a whole lot of space here for gardening. I do love my roses though!
