Why Does The Laundry Pile Up?

So, why does the laundry pile up?   That is the 64th question that nobody really seems to have an answer for.  All I know when talking to my FLYsisters it seems laundry always comes up in the conversation.

Could it be that we start it too late.  Remember when the word laundry comes up, it is a 5 part process and most forget this.  I myself have finally learned this and if I can’t get all of that done in one day then I am not starting a load for these possible reasons:

  • They never make it into the dryer and two days later they they are still in the washing machine.  All one can do is wash them over.
  • Now you have that laundry you WERE going to do before you realized you had some in the washing machine from two days ago.  Right there you are now backed up.  Let’s hope this doesn’t happen again.  The thing is that it does!  Now you are washing that first set of laundry for the third time!  Please don’t tell me that it hasn’t ever happened to you at some point in your life because I know it has.  Can you see where this is going?
  • Let’s say you do get a load in the dryer.  What are the odds they are going to come out before they are all wrinkled up?  Pretty high in most households.  So some will throw a wet washcloth in with the clothes to get the wrinkles out.
  • Well you better be there when that buzzer goes off or you will be in the same situation again.

So let’s review.  What are the 5 steps to laundry?

  1. Sort
  2. Wash
  3. Dry
  4. Fold or Hang
  5. Put Away

A person really has to do it this way to make it the easy way.  So why does everyone think it’s the hard way?
