BooyA!!! |
Can you say ‘Booya?!!!’ It is a game I created for my Marilyn’s Way 15 group and you can play it too. Why the word ‘Booya?’ I just think it is a fun word to say when completing a task. That is really all there is to it.
I decided to look up the word ‘booya’ to see if I was on the right track. Click on the link booya to read the definition or
“Bam!”, “in your face”, and “hell yeah”, all at the same time. A term that self-congratulates, describes excitement, lets others know the magnificence of the celebration as well as the superiority of the user, and is used as an exclamation of those ideas.
Say “booya!” when you play a trick on someone or beat them at a game, or prove your superiority to others.
“How you like them apples!? Booya!”
It is as simple as that!
I am taking it further making it a game that has 3 rounds of 45 minutes with a 15 minute break after. I have them spread throughout the day and each round has a meaning. I know it has helped me to ‘Dance Till You FLY! mw’ . It keeps me on track. In fact I have 3 alarms set in my phone for 15 minutes before each of the specified hours. The following is my explanation as to why I chose each of the 3 times.
Round #1
10 am Many of us tend to get on social media like facebook in the morning with our first cup of coffee. We like to see what happened in the world while we slept. For me being ADD structure is needed in order for my days to go well.
If you haven’t gotten the first 3 habits of ‘Dance Till You FLY! mw System’ done, here’s your chance! They are:
#1 Get Dressed To Shoes
#2 Swish & Swipe The Bathroom
#3 What’s For Dinner?
It is that simple! No negotiating. Just ‘DO IT!’ You will feel so much better. As you are doing this, you can be thinking about your day or moving on to the next couple of habits or work on the weekly habit for the specific day. It is your choice!
2 pm The day is half over. Did you do habits #1, #2, & #3 yet? If not, DO THEM NOW! There is still plenty of time to get all nine habits each day every day done.
If you did get them done, move on to the next 2 habits.
#4 Load Of Laundry
#5 Declutter Each Day
Round 2 @ 2 pm Central Time |
You can easily associate the 2 habits together. And remember, when you do a load of laundry plan to do all 5 steps. They are:
1. Sort
2. Wash
3. Dry
4. Fold or Hang
5. Put Away
It’s a great time to declutter some clothes as well. Otherwise just spend 15 minutes decluttering the usual daily stuff that gets strewn around the home. Decluttering doesn’t have to be emotional. It can be things that need to be thrown away like junk mail. Get in the habit of doing that and it will make it easier for you to do the things that are a bit more challenging. And remember, declutter the item when you are ready. This is a process and we are also learning how to change our way of thinking. Be kind to yourself.
Round #3
5 pm The day is almost over. Hopefully you have gotten the first 5 habits of 9 habits each day every day done and the weekly habit for the specific day. If not, don’t worry! Just stop everything and get the first 3 habits done period. No negotiating on this one.
I don’t care if it takes you until 5 pm to get dressed to shoes, DO IT NOW! I can’t stress enough how important that first habit is to your day. It took me taking a personal challenge of ‘Getting Dressed To Shoes, Hair and Makeup’ for 436 consecutive days blogging about it and still going to break my very bad habit of being a ‘Pajama Junkie’ for 5 years.
It can easily happen too. If you are a stay at home mom, on disability like myself, or retired it isn’t as if we don’t do some work around the home. Get dressed for it! Don’t slip into the bad habit of not doing this first habit. When I think of the time wasted on being fearful that someone may come to the door and I wasn’t dressed… well lots of negative energy was involved.
Today I choose to feel good about myself and accept what I do get done. Consistency and structure, the two things I resented the most have now become my friends. Funny how that happens. Are you ready for the next 4 habits?
#6 Make Dinner Early
#7 Shine Your Sink
#8 Lay Out Clothes
#9 Launch Pad Ready
Round 3 @ 5 pm Central Time |
Making dinner early is hit and miss for me yet. Honestly I am beginning to think I am simply making it too difficult.
The most important thing I do FIRST before anything else I:
Fill Sink Up With Hot Soapy Water!
This is so crucial in helping you get dinner on the table. You learn to clean as you go. After dinner is finished, all you have to do is wash the dishes you ate with. Those really aren’t hard if you use the DO IT NOW principle before food gets caked on and then there is soaking time. Honestly, soaking a dish will throw me off faster than anything with my 9 habits each day every day. Wash that kettle right away to make it the easy way.
Now that you have the dishes done, you can simply do habit #7 Shine Your Sink. Think of the kitchen now being closed for the day.
Hopefully you took your time to enjoy your meal and rested because before you sit down for the evening, move on to habit #8 Lay out clothes and habit #9 Launch Pad Ready. Neither need to be a big production. Most of us tend to wear the same clothes over and over. Chances are something you washed today can be part of your ensemble for tomorrow.
Habit #9 Launch Pad Ready doesn’t have to be a big production either. It may be as simple as ‘Where are your keys?’ or if you plan to leave the home, a list of what you will be taking and laying them on your Launch Pad for tomorrow.
The majority of us tend to deal with insomnia. One way to help yourself get out of that bad habit is to begin to practice these ‘Nine Habits Each Day Every Day’ as a part of getting a restful night of sleep. Just knowing these got done for today will make you feel accomplished so you can say ‘BOOYA!!!’ and mean it!
