I hear it all the time. I have been a bad flybaby and not doing my routines. Now I am in crisis mode. Sometimes it is going to happen just like life happens.
Repeat this sentence 3 times, “I always make progress when I JUMP back in!” -Marilyn’s Way
The fact is even Neatniks can burnout from housework. I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade. However, the NATURE of housework contains three of burnouts major stress components:
1. It is repetitious.
2. It is never ending.
3. It is extraordinarily low on positive feedback.
In other words, housework is never done. There’s always more to do. If you think there is a magic pill, there isn’t any. There are however habits and routines to always do just to keep your home running smoothly. If you can concentrate on these from my link Where Do I Start? and get comfortable with them first, then whenever you have more time you can do additional routines. It really is a matter of choosing habits you will do every day no matter what that will keep you motivated. I was thinking about working on my extra room. Then I had to ask myself if I had the things on my basic day done. No I had not. We don’t HAVE to like this. It is just better for us to know it is for our own good to practice these habits daily. If you are feeling unmotivated, get back to your basics and get comfortable with them before you take anything new on. You will thank yourself for it.
