When I decided I wanted to create ‘Dance Till You FLY! mw System (c) 2014’ I knew the theme of my weekly habits had to be dance song related and they had to be upbeat music.  Not every day of the week has a dance name.  They had to make sense with the habit for each day of the week.  The video above is Billy Joel and Jimmy Fallon performing the Doo-wop song ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight.’  As you see, Doo Wop is alive and well!

Yesterday I did a ‘Refrigerator Cha Cha’.  I didn’t get the entire fridge cleaned because I ran out of spoons to do the entire job.  I knew the inside of the refrigerator was the most important.  I started out with that part.  The freezer was second in priority.  I have until April 7th to get that done.  April 8th is when the Schwans man LeRoy stops by my home.  It is a home food delivery service. (LeRoy and I share the same birthday and we are the same age.  I am one hour older than him.  This is important when you reach your 50 something age.)  There was a time I didn’t have a vehicle and had to rely on this service while a neighbor and my mom would get my other groceries.

Yes, I was that sick with fibromyalgia in the first part of the 2000’s.  That is when I became a 5 year pajama junkie until I took the personal challenge in March of 2011 to ‘Get Dressed To Shoes’ and post a photo along with a mini blog for 436 consecutive days and still going!  Most wouldn’t know.  I rarely went anywhere.  Out of sight is out of mind.  It wasn’t until 2009 that I could begin to function better, got a vehicle and could take care of myself better.

Today is my Doo Wop Errand Day.  In a perfect world, I try to do it on Thursdays as suggested by flylady because the day before the habit for me is a ‘Refrigerator Cha Cha’ or Flylady calls it a ‘Refrigerator Boogie’.  And this makes sense.  You want a clean fridge to come home to and can easily put away the foods one buys.  Yet why is it that so many don’t?  I used to be that way.  What I needed to realize that first before I go on ‘Doo Wop Errand Day’ that involves groceries it will make it so much easier after a day of shopping.

I really wanted to go to town yesterday.  I would have gotten home and then do a ‘Refrigerator Cha Cha! into the wee hours of the night.  I say this because I have done it and I pay for it in fibro flares the next couple days.  This makes it hard for me to do my ‘Cha Cha Cha Day’ after.  That is cleaning out my purse, car and then balance the checkbook with what I spent.  Two days later turns into a week and soon the month goes by and I haven’t done my paperwork.

Fibro flares really create havoc for me.  It can throw my entire system off.  Today I have learned to build in back up plan after back up plan so that I can be the most consistent at taking care of myself and my home.  Whenever you see ducks on the water, they are not just floating along.  Most of the time they are paddling their little feet off.  I am having fewer days like that because I have learned to plan.  Fibromyalgia is a very high maintenance illness.  Who has time to clean house?  Most housework is repetitive and that is hard on us.

Today I have a system that is built on nine habits each day every day.  It wasn’t until I understood the importance of ‘Habit’ was I able to get this far.  My home no longer looks like a tornado went through and I thank the nine habits I was able to figure out what ones were best for me.  Now I am sharing with you.

My list to buy is ready to go.  I have a form I use that I keep in my planner to enter things as I am running out of things.  Now the ‘Refrigerator Cha Cha’ is done.  I am ‘Dressed To Shoes.’ I have a full tummy and tank of gas to go ‘Doo Wop’ my ‘Errand Day!’

(Note:  Because of ‘Doo Wop Errand Day’ I won’t be doing any decluttering in my kitchen today.  I need all the energy I have for my weekly habit.)
