Nothing lasts forever. A gas grill is one. I had to invest in a new one this past year. So what do I do with the old one? I made it into a raised garden bed to start seedlings! That’s what! I have seen them where they are potting stations and this one could become that in the future. Today, however I am using it as a bed to plant flowers in that become seedlings that will eventually go in the gardens I have in my yard. Here is a step by step tutorial of how I did it.
My old gas grill has had its day but has it? Let’s make a planter station for seedlings!
Step 1 is to remove the grate and take out the old burner. I will save the grill part in case it is turned into a potting station. Today it is going to be made into a planter for seedlings to grow before they reach their final home.
Step 2 clean out the rest of the burned and rusted parts.
Step 3 place rocks on the bottom for better drainage.
Step 4 add garden soil.
Step 5 plant your seeds, water them and wait for them to grow into beautiful flowers to be transplanted in my garden beds I have in my yard.
It is that simple! I get excited every time I see the seedlings pop out from under the dirt!
I have another one of these planters I used last year and it worked so great that I decided it would be best to re-purpose my old grill like this old smoker I have.
I made a collage for you to look at. I did mix in some fresh soil. In this one it is all cosmos.

Love, love, love this idea!! I’ll be on the lookout now for a grill nobody wants so I can repurpose it!

I am checking this reply.
Great idea! Repurposing is one of the aest ways to save money and to find a new use for an old product. 🙂
Yes it is Linda, I am always trying to think that way.
