So You Want To Get Your House Clean. What Does This Mean To You?

Posted on Posted in Flying with Fibromyalgia

I am always seeing others looking for the magic pill that isn’t.  Then comes the crisis cleaning.  That has its purpose.  You somehow are in a crisis.

Who wants to be in continued crisis?  I used to think that is the only way to feel like I was ever getting anything done.  For some reason I didn’t place any value of the day in and day out things as simple as making our beds to be important.

Sometimes we can’t see the importance of making our beds in the scheme of things.  But what if you associated making the bed with something else?  How about getting Dressed To Shoes Hair and Makeup?  What about when you are in the bathroom getting ready, you work in a swish of the toilet and a swipe of the sink and mirror?  Associate or link together curling or combing your hair with swish and swipe?

Now, take a 15 minute break to say hello to the world and promise yourself you will do what is in front of you?  You scan the room quickly and see two items that you can pick up and take to the room it belongs in.  While in this room, is there one or two items that can go out with you and taken to another room?

Doesn’t this all seem simple when we read this?  Then WHY are we making this so difficult?  The number one reason is we are not “living” in the present moment!  We either want to look back or look forward.  Where all the things to keep each of us going is “Living In The Moment and Doing The Task At Hand.”

How do we get there?  By making it a habit just like keeping your sink shined and getting dressed to shoes hair and makeup.  I bet while you are in the bathroom or bedroom, there will be either clothes or towels that can start the process of being sorted, washed, dried, folded, and then put away!

Now look at what you have done.  How do you feel?  I am hoping you feel great about yourself because what you just did in the flow of your life has got your house clean. We are not looking for it to be perfect.  My purpose for each and everyone of you to try this out and maybe you will find your own way as I have for me.
