Today I filled up my Windex Glass Cleaner bottles. How many do I have? Well, four bottles to be exact. Do I go through lots of it that I need four bottles? It depends on how you look at it. When one sets them all side by side it almost looks like it a compulsion. But is it really?
Flylady is about establishing habits that turn into routines. The ones that are the most important are the daily habits and routines. So I had to ask myself what is the best way to approach this? I decided to designate a bottle for rooms where I am always reaching for it. Pre Flylady I had one bottle and whenever I wanted to use it it was never where I could find it because I had this horrible habit of not putting things back or if I couldn’t finish the project until the next day my thinking was, “Why put it away if I am going to turn around and use it the next day?” Maybe I would use it there or maybe not. All I know is no matter when I wanted to use the Windex I had to go on a huntabout in my house and by the time I finally find it, I am not in the mood! Please don’t tell me you haven’t been in this situation at one time or another. That is unless you are Born Organized and if you are, I doubt you would be reading this blog!
The first bottle I keep in my Porch. This is where I have my washer and dryer and is close to the outside door to clean for touch ups.
The second bottle I keep in my Kitchen. This makes it very easy to shine my sink each day. It helps with fingerprints on appliances. It’s great for the mirrors I have too. Most of the time I use the Purple Wrags. Sometimes I have to use a bit of Windex on them.
The third bottle I keep in my Bathroom. This works great as I am getting ready for my day. While I am in there, I Swish & Swipe. It hardly takes any time at all. I already keep my a purple wrag in there and do keep paper towels as a backup.
The fourth and final bottle I keep in a cabinet with a roll of paper towels in my Living Room. My bedroom and extra room are just off the Living Room and helps me keep up with my Weekly Home Blessing Hour.
On the surface it would look like I had an obsession with Windex Glass Cleaner. I also buy refill bottles now that I have all my spray bottles invested. I figure I am saving money this way.
The question to this blog is, are my multiple bottles of Windex Glass Cleaner bottles clutter or is it a smarter way to fly? I will let you decide. My answer for myself is smarter because the time I was always searching for that bottle, I now use to do my daily, weekly, and monthly Flying.

I agree having 4 bottles is great but I found a product just as good as Windex an alot cheaper..It is a commercial window cleaner called ZEP..Home Depot carries it an It cost about $7.00 a gallon an it makes 32 gallons..saves alot of money when u use alot.
Check it out.
I think multiple windex bottles are necessary. I only have two because of the layout of my small house. I am going to make my own as soon as my current bottles need refilling. If you google homemade windex you can find how to do this. It is much cheaper. I have several glass surfaces that I like to keep sparkling clean. It gets expensive to use Windex.
