Yesterday I made the decision to transplant my ‘Burning Bush’. We have had significant rain over the weekend and felt it would be the easiest on the bush to transplant.
There are all types of Burning Bushes and you can click on the link. Mine has a personal meaning and so I hope it withstands the transplant. I have a shed that will be moved into the back of my yard and to move it I needed to move the ‘Burning Bush’.
When one decides to transplant something like a bush or a tree, patience and time are needed in the equation. One wants to get the majority of the roots and keep from damaging them. The following are photos of the process.
That was my project yesterday after I planted onions on the edge of the garden since it is still too muddy to get in there. The next couple weeks will be the worst for tracking in mud to the house. How do I know? From recording it the past couple years. It keeps me from getting stressed out.
After all gardening is supposed to be enjoyable. As long as I keep doing my nine habits of Marilyn’s Way Dance Till You FLY! System to maintain for the coming weeks, what’s a little dirt? The joy that my gardens give me outweigh the dirt hands down!
Happy Gardening!
Have you done some transplanting this season? I would love to hear from you!

Marilyn, Funny, we just transplanted a burning bush too! We pulled it out of it’s space with a backhoe (it was much larger than yours) and it fell apart into three pieces. We dug holes where we wanted them elsewhere in the yard, and voila! They seem to love their new homes! It was so crowded where it was, we had no idea it was actually so large. Thanks for sharing your story with us. We both like to garden!
