Sounds simple doesn’t it? I wish it was. I want to take everything out and start over. I know it is going to be a mess but for how long? In my mind forever.
I usually find myself this way when I begin to feel a major declutter coming on. It’s Spring! I still associate Spring with Spring Cleaning. It seems like the blink of the eye it is here! Spring filled with hope and anticipation verses clutter that seems to have built up over the Winter.
Don’t know what to do with something? Put it in a drawer. Do it enough times and now you have a stuffed drawer of this and that. Many of the things don’t even pertain to the desk. It really doesn’t bother you much until you can’t find that receipt that is important. Somehow it may have gotten mixed up with some other receipts that could have easily been thrown out to begin with. Instead, we find ourselves stuffing in the drawers and the important receipt seems to get eaten up by them. How? Because of our stash and dash way can only work so long.
When we get a new desk it is full of all kinds of promises. These promises are:
Getting Out Of Debt
Becoming More Organized
Staying Focused On What Matters Most
Maybe our new desk is just that. A desk that serves as an area to go through our paperwork and projects. It is us, not the desk that must come to the decision to change this. So then, why is it that we think we have to have the right desk to get out of debt, become more organized and stay focused on what matters most? You got me! Until then, I will keep decluttering and start to do some 5 minute rescues whenever I sit at my desk.
Keep FLYing!
