Zone 1 Outside Entrance to House

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

I decided I had better practice what I say and try this plan out.  It is taking the Gardening Zones and incorporating these routines with Flylady. Many of us love to be outdoors this time of year and one of our fears is will I be able to do Flylady routines and my gardening?  I believe you can and it begins with babysteps.  I am going to give it a try and invite you on my journey to unfamiliar territory.  I have been flying for quite some time.  This will be the first year to add a vegetable garden.

So I asked myself, “What can I do that will make me feel better about my entrance?”  The decision was made.  I would take the Christmas lights that I stapled on the house down.  Did you hear me right?  Yes, Christmas lights.  The weather has just not been that great and what ever yard work I have done this season has been picking up twigs and branches.  Yesterday I burned a pile of branches.  It seemed to be more fun to do than the Christmas lights.  And yesterday was perfect conditions to burn.

Today started off very windy and gloomy.  Around 4pm the sun decided to try to shine.  I told myself I can at least do 15 minutes outside.  After all, it is just 15 minutes.  It led to 3 – 15 minute sessions.  I accomplished what I set out to do and also visit with my aunt who was outside by the church.  I got some vitamin D, fresh air, conversation and 45 minutes of loving movement that I will be posting on Flylady Website.

Here are some pictures of my task I set out to do and accomplished.

As you can see there is still work to be done.  15 minute Boogies work for me so I will continue to do them.  The task doesn’t give you this overwhelming feeling of discouragement and I am all for ways to make my day fun! Try a 15 minute boogie and see what you get done.  You may just surprise yourself and you can say, “Go Me!”
Keep Flying!

  1. I love the way you write about these little adventures of you with the garden, the christmas lights etc. It makes me feel as if anything is truly possible, just 15 minutes at a time (and inspired me to go shine my kitchen).

We just cut the old, non-working christmas lights out of our cherry tree. It has just been three years coming or so. Better late than never.

  2. Good for you, posting pictures and keeping up on your zones and your blog! I have to figure out how to post pics, and I want a slide show, but I haven't been able to do that. I have been getting really encouraged to do my work, and when I see I have followers. I try to add a little bit of joy at the end of mine, just to give a little personal twist. I was trying to find out how to put my own talents on the blog, and being as I am trying to read my Bible more, it encourages me to do it to put it on my blog. Thank you for encouraging me by setting the example.
