Day 7 Of The Greatest Paper Clutter Eliminator Game!

Is today really a week already?  This will be short but want to check in with you all to keep you motivated to keep getting rid of paper clutter like I am.  Yesterday I wrote a “Special Edition” as to how I started “In the Beginning” when I had massive amounts of paper clutter.  Each year I have been with Flylady I have always worked on it in October as it is the Monthly Habit.  This month I am really concentrating on the old paper clutter that has been weighing me down emotionally.  I know now that all of this past paper clutter is keeping me from projects I want to do and new experiences to enjoy.

Out With The Old, In With The New
Paper clutter is always going to be a revolving door.  Many of us get our mail at the end of the day coming home from work and it is the last thing we want to do is look at the mail.  So what happens?  It gets laid down on a flat space somewhere in your home that begins to become a pile.  Then that pile gets too high since the paper keeps falling so it is time to start another pile.  I am sure you know where this is going.

The Average Person Gets 41 Pounds Of Junk Mail Each Year.
It’s like having a 6 year old child taking up residency in your home.  Now if you have LOTS of paper clutter pretty soon you have a family!  Just imagine for each year you haven’t dealt with this you are gaining a 6 year old!

Junk Mail Makes Up For Half Of Your Daily Mail
I guess this is good I am writing a 31 day blog about Paper Clutter because now I know the facts better than letting this itch keep itching but don’t know the source.  It is a metaphor.  Many times in our life we are moving too fast to realize this.  I am guilty myself but now I know and I will have better control over all of this Junk mail.  I sure don’t want any more 6 year old kids taking up residency in my home!

Today I have dealt with the Paper Clutter I showed you in my blog from yesterday’s “Special Edition of Paper Clutter” for ones just starting their journey of mountains of paper clutter.  I really am happy to be at the end of this journey.  The problem is that it is stirring up old memories of emotional clutter as well.  As long as I am aware of it and I know it will be out of my home by the end of the month at the rate I am going, well, then it will be worth it.

I found another box that looks like it will be very easy to declutter and am going to do that next.  Then I will get back to my Horizontal file.  I am just keeping my goal on the end result and that is less paper clutter.

Please join in with me this month.  In one weeks time, I have gotten rid of 3 big black garbage bags and it sure feels good.  What will this next week’s total come to be?  It will be interesting.

Keep Playing “The Greatest Paper Clutter Eliminator Game” and keep FLYing!

There was a handful more I already took out of the box to shred and toss.  I am happy with my results so far.
