A Problem Area Hoping To Solve

Yes!  Gardening is finally here!  It feels so good to be outside after our very long snowy winter.  The thing is because it got dry last year all the snow has just made the soil moist.  As I am writing this I have four o’clocks soaking and sunflower seeds.  My four o’clocks didn’t come up last year so did some research.

The picture above is a problem area I am trying to fix.  Since I got into de-cluttering in my house, it has spread out into my yard.  Unfortunately my neighbors don’t feel the same way.  Whenever I look out the windows I see this so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I have had Golden Glow Yellow Flowers that grow at least five feet tall and come up every year.  I really didn’t like where they were on the west side of the house so I moved them and planted them along the property line in between the trees.  I am also going to be planting sunflowers that grow to ten feet.  They also have chickens and am hoping to deter them.  I am thinking of Zinnias there as well.  I am sure I will have to stake them but will be well worth it.  I am leaving a space for the neighbor boys to be able to come through to visit whenever they are allowed.  I know I have white daisies that come up every year and may plant some of them as well.  I have never planted a living fence and I think it is going to be lots of fun.  Join me for the ride as I go through this journey of creating a Living Fence.  I don’t know how successful I will be but I am trying it this season!

  1. I'm sure your garden will be lovely! We have tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and our herbs in the ground. We had a hot spell and have a tomato that has set on. Enjoy your time outdoors
