It’s January 2012! Now What?

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

I have to say I haven’t been as good writing in this blog as The Flylady Way.  I had great intentions too.  I started doing Walkabouts in June.  My dog Lily and I enjoyed it all spring, summer, and fall.  Now it is winter.  We have had a mild winter to date.  Lily and I had a chance to do a Walkabout by the Farm last month and it was refreshing.  I wish I could say I have done it again since then.  I have been fitting in Walkabouts when I am shopping at the grocery store or giant stores like Walmart.  Don’t get me wrong.  I still want to and love Walkabouts.  With the weather colder and because I have Fibromyalgia in which cold damp weather triggers Fibro Flares, I have been challenged to continue.

When I started Walkabout The Flylady Way in June the only food I told myself I had to give up was Peanut Butter.  I was eating two slices of buttered toast with Peanut Butter.  I had gained enough weight to feel the need to give it up and I did and I have.  I lost 10 pounds just by eliminating peanut butter and doing walkabouts.

I also want to point out my number one focus in 2011 was Getting Dressed To Shoes Hair & Makeup.  It was also about practicing Flylady’s Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Habits.  I can honestly say I have become comfortable with them enough to add another focus- My Body Image.

For some reason, I became addicted to sugar more than ever before.  Yes, I love Egg Nog!  I am talking about the Virgin EggNog.  It not only is loaded with sugar, it is loaded with fat.  I got where I was craving it.  What I have learned along the way sugar and fat are not only an addiction but can turn into an allergy.  Allergy is another way one says they react to specific foods, pollens, chemical sensitivities, yeast.

You know if you do anything in excess and not learn how to pace yourself or be able to have a temporary stopping point to evaluate the things you are doing, you always pay for it in the end.  Well, that is where I am. I am paying for consuming too much Virgin EggNog last month that not only did I gain my 10 pounds back, I also aquired Yeast Infection throughout my entire body.  I have been prone to them my entire life.  I haven’t been taking my vitamins as well.  One mineral that is very important for aiding in the relief of Fibromyalgia and to rid the body of yeast is magnesium.
