Saturday Is ‘Fun Day!’

Saturday is Fun Day!

When I grew up Saturday was cleaning day.  In fact I practiced it well into adulthood.  Then in 2005 I found FlyLady .  It wasn’t until 2011 that I actually saw things coming together because of one habit I didn’t think was important until I took a personal challenge to see for myself.  Yes, it was March habit ‘Getting Dressed To Shoes’.  I did this and documented it with a daily photo and mini blog for 436 consecutive days.  Oh, how my life would change!

Because of my limitations having Fibromyalgia I wasn’t able to do all that FlyLady asked of me.  That wasn’t going to stop me.  Instead I came up with Dance Till You FLY!mw featuring nine habits each day every day to take care of yourself and your home.  Others are enjoying it as well.  It is the non-negotiable habits we must do in order to continue moving forward.

One of the parts of the system are weekly habits on specific days.  Saturday is ‘Fun Day!’  Listed below are 9 fun things you can do on a Saturday.

1.  Make a bucket list.  These can be fun to make.  It gives ourselves time to think outside the box.

2.  Fix up something and make it new again.  You could paint it, sand and stain it, recover it, or make garden whimsies out of repurposed dishes like I do.

3.  Make cookies or homemade bread.  Eat it while it is warm.

4.  Host a Murder Mystery Night with your friends and then dress the part.

5.  Watch Old Family Movies.  It has always been a hit with my family on holidays.  Why not on a Saturday?

6.  Take your digital camera outside and make some beautiful pictures.

7.  Have a Backyard Barbeque with the neighbors.

8.  Do some Bird Watching.  It is a great time of year for this as they are building their nests.  Bring binoculars.

9.  Go Fly A Kite!  I mean this in a nice way.  Find an open space and enjoy.

I hope I gave you some ideas.  That is all this list really is.  It is a way to think about things other than your normal day.  We all need breaks like this in order to take care of ourselves and our homes.  Try one today and see how you feel!
