The Daily FLYing Chart Oh My!

Posted on Posted in Flying with Fibromyalgia, Gardening, Habits, Marilyns Way, Routines, The Flylady

I put this chart up yesterday and didn’t get too much of a response from this.  Does anyone have any questions pertaining this chart?

I made it to try to simplify or give everyone a “Birds Eye” view of what Flylady and Marilyn’s Way is about.  As I said this is the  full concept and when you are starting out, in NO WAY are you expected to do all of this at once.  I have been flying since 2005 and I don’t get all of this done all of the time.

If I did just this I would have no life and would not be on facebook much or do all the gardening I do.  This would be the same as if you are working a full time job or raising children.  Yes, if there is someone that does all of this all the time, please step forward.

This system has everything to do with HOW MUCH CLUTTER you have.  Back in 2005 I just had pathways in my home.  We still have to declutter because if we bring something in the house we must take something out.  If we don’t, eventually we will be living in CHAOS again.

Look over this chart and pick three things to get into the habit of always doing.  That will get you started.  And of course you can go to Flylady and start PRACTICING the 31 Babysteps.  These babysteps are not meant to do in a calendar period as some feel they may.  Some of us it isn’t possible for us to do this.  Instead what I interpret that Flylady means is these are the Babysteps you do.  If you can accomplish each step each day and move on to the next, MORE POWER TO YOU!  Maybe 20% of  us can accomplish this and that is wonderful.  Most of us cannot and I am not just talking about Flylady lessons only.  I am talking about all Organizational Systems.

Everything always looks great on paper and we all get excited about finding something we thing is the “Magic Pill.”  Sorry flysisters, the only kind of pill you would take is like taking your daily vitamin pill.  We have to look at Flylady and Marilyn’s Way this way.  Meaning everyday we take our multiple vitamin and start flying.

I created this chart with the help of Rauna Human because I am ADD.  I have to see everything all on one page to grab the concept of what I am trying to accomplish.  In a way this is like a “Mind Map or like The Flight Plan” that one looks at from a “Birds Eye View”

Flylady has kicked off her Declutter Olympics.  Click on the link above if you want to get involved.  I am going to.  It looks like fun and if we don’t take it too seriously, just allow yourself 15 minutes for each one and be done.  Then get used to that feeling because that is what this is about.  It is a lifestyle that is going to make your life easier.  You must “Trust” the PROCESS.  This doesn’t happen overnight just like your home didn’t get to the point of CHAOS (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome) overnight.  Please learn to love yourself and this FLYing will happen with the support of Marilyn’s Way closed groups and Flylady page.  Why?  Because YOU are worth it!!

  1. Marilyn, I have a daughter who is almost hopeless, yes I do read your posts, and I am going to laminate this for her and hope she doesn't implode! (She is my Step-daughter actually)!

  2. This is amazing – not being as tech savvy as Iused to be – I'd love to print a copy, is this permissable? If it is how do I go about printing a copy?

  3. This is an amazing tool to be able to see everything at a glance. I will be printing it and laminating it so I can check things off every day. Thank you so much!

  4. I will see what I can do by asking the person that made it for me. I am not very techy at all. I just drew it out by hand and let her do the rest. I will get you an answer soon.

  5. Is there a way you can have this chart in Word document so we can all print out a larger page…when I printed my it was so small I could not read it 🙁

It is so pretty and would go perfectly in my control journal 🙂

  6. I appreciate this calendar, because I'm also ADD, and I've difficulties to manage the everyday life. I would like to know as Bria, how to get a copy!
    Big thanks,
A frog in the South Pacific

  7. From the book "Eat that Frog" – “If the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long!”… goes on to day your "Frog" is the most important thing you have to do OR the one you're most likely to procrastinate on, and that if you've got to eat a frog, it's best not to sit and stare at it for too long – just get it over with.

  8. Marilyn this chart is wonderful & a great help . I can see others are confused by the words " Eat The Frog " . This is used such alot to mean doing the tough stuff first ; but is not a term I am comfortable with as I really like frogs & is a horrible thought anyway!!
I am sure we can come up with a much better phrase !!
For myself I say " Tough Stuff is number ONE – just GET IT DONE !! which is far too long to put on a chart though .

  9. This is awesome. Can I print this? I think I'd be great to laminate and check off things as you go. Also curious about the frog though. I'm new to FLYLady and you though.
