Tips To Keep You FLYing When Sick

So many of my members in my closed group Marilyn’s Way are sick with flu and cold.  It is that time of year for that and I am thankful everyday I don’t catch a cold or the flu.  I guess having fibromyalgia has forced myself to learn how to pace myself and to keep FLYing.  In fact this is what I would do before I found Flylady.

I had a notebook that was sectioned off by rooms using a post it note for the tab.  What I would do with this notebook is make notes of what I wanted to get rid of in each room.  We are so great at lists and this is the right time to do this when we are not up to our best.  This notebook is just for you.  It doesn’t have to be fancy because when you finally do get completely decluttered that notebook will eventually be decluttered to the trash.

All of us know what our problem rooms are.  Do some dreaming and think of ways it could be better while you are in bed or on the sofa or in the recliner.  Let the ideas flow.  Currently I have been scratching down notes for my kitchen in thinking of ways it could be more efficient since my office is also in this room.  How I arrange my kitchen only has to make sense to me.  I might be too sick to do the actual work, but I am sure I can pick up a notebook and a pencil and start writing some ideas.

Next time you are not feeling your best take your notebook sectioned off by rooms or as Flylady does it by zones and write down some of the things you want to do when you get well.  FranklinCovey Planners call it is a Master Task List.  I have been using it for years and it really does work!

I hope that the ones that are sick will be back to their old selves again soon as no one likes to be sick.  If you have your habits and routines established it will make it even easier to bounce back.
