We Know About Beginnings. What About Endings?

Posted on Posted in Chaos, Clutter, Declutter, The Flylady

I hear it all the time how a fellow FLYsister has fallen off the bandwagon and is ready to begin again.  This blog is not about beginnings.  This blog is about endings.

Endings are just as important.  They just don’t get the publicity that beginnings do.

Why Endings?
Endings prepare us for beginnings.  The beginning of our day is like a new promise.  Then life gets in the way of what we are doing.  Some type of crisis happens and we abandon the process we are in therefore abandon the ending of our day that is necessary to begin our next day.

We are going to have days that don’t go our way.  I have them all the time.  What is different is I make sure I allow time for ending my day.

The same goes for my week.  It has helped me to have specific days for weekly habits.  Sometimes I have to adjust them because of doctor appointment but instead I adjust the day before and the day after that would fit appropriately with a doctor’s appointment or Errand Day.  How I can do this is by always doing my planning so I will get to play too.

This month the Monthly Habit is Meal Planning.  I haven’t done the best with it.  I will be the first to admit.  This doesn’t mean I should abandon it.  As of this writing I still have 4 days to practice at Meal Planning so I will be able to move on to December’s Habit-Pamper Yourself.

The sunrise is just as beautiful as the sunset.  I love to see both if I can.  If your day hasn’t gone the way you have liked, don’t forget the importance of the ending of your day.  That would be what we call the Before Bedtime Routine.  It is our most important routine of the day.  It prepares us for a restful sleep knowing what we will be wearing, what we will do, and help us in dealing with any crisis if it occurs.  We will know how to adjust accordingly and the focus on our ending of the day.

Whether it is the day, week, month or year.  The ending is important.  Today is the beginning of the week.  This is the last week ending in the month and we are approaching the ending of this year. Have you given enough attention to your endings?  Endings set us up for beginnings of being more prepared to show up for our day, week, month, or year.
Keep FLYing!
