# 4 of BabyStep Pledge Body Clutter Release Contract

I have been stuck on this number because the way that I used to exercise no longer applies to me.  For example, my running days are over because of a bad knee and hip.  What is a person supposed to do?  How about walk?

4.    I make a commitment to blessing my heart with Loving Movement every day, even if it is only for    15 minutes.  I can do anything for 15 minutes.  Movement is fun.  Not a penalty.

Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself.  Walking isn’t that painful.  How can I classify that as exercise?  Any thoughts?  Maybe it is time to redefine exercise.  Flylady has it right “Blessing My Heart With Loving Movement” whatever it may be.  Many of us have busy lives and gone are the days we can take off and go to the gym.  That doesn’t mean we throw the baby out with the bath water.  We have to look for other ways in smaller increments.  That is what 15 minutes is all about.  Ok, what about 7  minutes or even 2 minutes.  What is important is that we do some sort of Loving Movement so that we can keep our heart, lungs, and muscles in check.

How did I get my 15 minutes of Loving Movement today?  I went out in the yard and did 3 x 27 twig boogies.  That came up to a total of 81 twigs.  Granted that some of the twigs were small.  They still need to be picked up.    To do this it requires bending, stretching, lifting, and walking.  The bonus was I got 15 minutes of Vitamin D without having to pop a vitamin.  Mr Sunshine provided me with it today.

The purpose of this blog today is awareness.  Give yourself credit for the loving movement you didn’t classify as exercise.  You know what state your body is in and adjust to your loving movement.

I know many of us have health issues.  Find out from your doctor what your exercise limits are.  I am sure any doctor would agree even doing just a little more of loving movement than you normally do in your daily activities will be helpful.

The point I am driving at is this.  Let go of the All or Nothing approach.  It isn’t realistic.  Just do some extra form of movement into your day and while you are at it, throw some LOVE in with your movement!
Keep Flying!
