Are Weeds Taking Over Your Fun?

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

Nothing is worse than weeds to spoil the looks of your yard, flower garden and vegetable garden.  On top of that, the weeds suck all the nutrients out for the grass, flowers, and vegetables.  There are plenty of chemicals out there that try to kill these weeds.  One type is Round Up.  It also kills everything around it and many times isn’t the best resource.

So, what’s a person to do?  There are so many tools that say they will do a great job of weeding.  For me, I want the weeding task to be pleasurable.  How can I accomplish this?  By finding the tool within my price range and has a good fit.

It seems many of the tools are focusing on the handle for comfort.  I am all for that!  I am also all for progress when it comes to finding a better weeder tool.  Here, I will show you my first weeder I have had for 10+ years and the other one for approximately 10 years.  Then, I will show you the weeder I just purchased from Fiskars.  I lined them up for you to see.

While the older ones have worked, each one worked better than the one before.  I am glad I’ve gone in the right direction.  Note how the the handle has become larger in each weeder.  The second one began to have an angle on it and also some soft padding.  Some of that padding has deteriorated from the elements and usage.  Now look at the one I just purchased.  It has a Softouch Handle that Reduces Stress.  It also has an angle that helps too.  It doesn’t say it is ergonomic but it looks like it to me.

The biggest difference I noticed especially placing them side by side is the indent at the end of each tool.  Each one progresses to have a more definite indent that is supposed to guide the root out of the ground.  Some of these roots are the size of small carrots and those are the most difficult and frustrating weeds to pull.

I have had my eye on this tool.  I wanted to upgrade and I am glad to say I made the right choice!  This tool makes it very easy to weed on the first try!  I just wasn’t expecting  result to be this gratifying.  That is why I decided to write this blog and share what I have found when it comes to weeder tools.  If anyone has found a great tool for this task, please leave a comment.  Finding the right tool may make a difference as to how your yard, flower and vegetable gardens will look so that you may enjoy the simplistic beauty of them and not let the weeds take over all of your fun!
Keep Flying!
